The Cattery started off in 1983 in the entrance to Block 3 kennels. We thought that the felines were too close to the canines so in 2008 decided to make the first improvement of converting the garage built by the previous owners and turn half of the building into a new cattery, which we decided to name Catotel. We thought the existing set up might be putting off customers bringing their cats to us and then from that change we started seeing existing customers bring their cats to board as well as their dogs. Having the cats away from the main kennels gave the cats their peace and plenty of nap time. This ran for about 8 years until 2016 when we decided to apply for planning permission to build a completely new cattery with internal and external cat areas within the new build.
The cattery contained 8 cat pens (one being a family suite up to 4 cats) and has been built to the highest spec by our very own Matthew Peck who has worked at the kennels since 2015.
Along with the self-contained kitchen each cat pen comprises of:
Internal Sleeping area, Heating panel (Thermostat controlled), Internal light. Bedding.
External area with view to left or right of the pen with shelf and bedding, External light.
Each cat pen’s internal door has a cat flap. So, if your cat wishes to venture to the external run during the colder months, they can do so knowing they can go back into the warmth of the cat pen.
Selection of easy to clean plastic tables allowing your cat to make that easy jump from floor to table to sleeping shelf. With the long gangway leading to each cat pen and with views to the garden and bird feeders your cat will have a nice comfortable stay.
The cattery is also alarmed, and CCTV cameras are on site for peace of mind.
We can supply everything for you, but you are welcome to bring along your own bedding, blankets, and food. If your cat needs medication while in our care, please give us the instructions and we will administer while with us.
We allow you to settle in your cat the day of arrival and we also allow you to go into the pen on day of departure and place your cat into the carry holder, which will be stored away while your cat boards with us.
